Konrad Dannenberg was a German
born rocket pioneer who worked with the United States after World War II. His
main assignment in his career was to develop a rocket engine for the V-2
ballistic missile. He was one of 117 German scientists to be brought to America
under Operation Paperclip.

Walter Robert Dornberger was a
German Army artillery officer. He worked through both World Wars and was one of
the leaders on the V-2 rocket program. Dornberger was brought to the United
States under Operation Paperclip. He worked with the United States Air Force for
three years developing guided missiles. For 15 years he worked for the Bell
Aircraft Corporation and eventually rose to the position of Vice-President. He played an important role
on the creation of the X-15 aircraft. His ideas also helped to lead to the
creation of the Space Shuttle.
